Welcome to Colgate Troop 165!

Our troop is small, which offers the opportunity for every Scout to be involved in the running of the troop. We are a Scout-led troop led by the Senior Patrol Leader and assisted by the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader.  Two patrols are each led by a Patrol Leader.  Planning of troop activities is done by the Patrol Leader’s Council (PLC) with guidance and support from the Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters. Ideas and feedback from every Scout are considered. More experienced Scouts help younger Scouts achieve their goals. The majority of past Scouts from our troop have achieved Eagle rank. We work hard, learn a lot, and have fun!

Summer Camp 2022

Troop meetings are opportunities to work on rank advancement, meet with the Scoutmaster, participate in a Board of Review, work on Scout skills, complete merit badges that the troop chooses to do as a group, and be recognized for advancement and merit badge achievements.  We strive to plan a campout or other Scout activity every month, and participate in an annual week-long Boy Scout summer camp.  Highlights of our troop adventures in 2021 include skiing/snowboarding, indoor skydiving, whitewater rafting, wilderness canoeing/backpacking, and a wilderness survival campout.

Troop service projects include highway clean-up of our designated stretch of County Hwy Q and food drives.  The entire troop participates twice a year in our "Boys Night Out" fundraiser at Amy Belle Elementary School, where we entertain elementary-aged kids while parents get a break.  Profits from this event are used to pay for troop gear and to keep our Troop members' fees low.  Other fundraising opportunities (e.g., wreath sales, Kwik Trip gas cards) are optional with funds going to individual Scout accounts.  We enjoy strong parent support.

MEETINGS: Every other Sunday evening, 6:30 pm – 7:45 pm, at the Richfield Fire Dept, 2008 WI-175, Richfield, WI 53076 (class A uniform during the school year; class B uniform in summer). Check calendar as we occasionally meet elsewhere or adjust the time of meetings.

Interested Webelos or other scouts are welcome to attend any of our meetings!

We are proud of our scout-led troop and would be happy to host you (no fee for guests). No formal RSVP is required for troop meetings (just show up). We occasionally meet at other locations or change meeting date; check the calendar or contact us to confirm location and date.  If you would like to join us on a campout or other event, please contact us before the event so we can plan tents/accommodations and food. A parent should plan to accompany their Webelos Scout to these meetings and events.

COVID-19 NOTE: Our troop has been successfully meeting in a socially distant way with activities largely outdoors. We sanitize, keep physically distant as possible, and wear masks when indoors. Please choose not to attend if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive. Thank you.
